to the unusual festival animal that is Surfing The Coldstream.
Part arts festival, part fringe carnival and part community celebration Surfing The Coldstream is an annual two-and-a-half-day event held in
the small seaside town of Yamba, in northern NSW.
A Free Entry event to the public and funded this year by
all three levels of government for the first time as well as by the generousity of the local business community, Surfing The Coldstream floods Yamba with as huge and as high
quality a diversity of musical, theatrical and visual artists and
performers as it's budget will allow.
Completely managed by an incredibly
hard-working voluntary committee and fully non-profit to boot, the Surfing
The Coldstream Festival aims to involve its whole local community from
young to old in as many different and unusual ventures as possible
truly making this festival a communiy minded enterprise.
With
an exciting and eclectic program featuring everything from acrobats
to gypsy jazz with snake charmers, country crooners, cheeky comics,
legendary muralists, stunning theatrical creatures, carnival drummers,
sword swallowers, rock stars and belly dancers all parading their
skills and wonders in a friendly village surrounded by national
parks, prawn-laden rivers and pristine beaches this is one festival
that can't be missed! |
